It is almost time to put on your gas masks and head back into the exclusion zone as Stalker 2 is due to arrive later this month. This series was a cult classic on PC, and many fans had been eagerly awaiting for a true sequel to arrive, making it one of the most anticipated upcoming Xbox games in addition to PC. However, the development suffered many delays over the years, the most recent being directly related to the ongoing invasion of Ukraine, where the development team was located. Despite all that, Stalker 2 is ready to put us to the test in a hardcore shooter where every choice and step could be our last. Make sure you’re ready to return to Chornobyl with all the preload information we have available.

Stalker 2‘s file size has been revealed to be a massive 146 GB on Xbox Series X. If you don’t have an external hard drive, you may need to delete a game or two to create some space.

An exact size hasn’t been shared for the PC version, however, the Steam page lists 150 GB of free space as a requirement, so odds are it will be roughly the same size.

You’ll have to wait just a little longer for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl
A Stalker from Stalker 2 looks off in the distance with a radioactive symbol behind him.

Upcoming survival game S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl has been delayed yet again, but unlike some of its other delays, it's only by around two months. Developer GSC Game World posted a video and statement on Thursday saying the game's release, which was previously set for September 5, will now be November 20. It wrote that the developers want to take the time to fix some bugs (or "anomalies," as it calls them).

The video, posted on YouTube and X (formerly Twitter), says the zone will remain "out of bounds" until that date. The player character then opens their table to see the new date. "Really?" they say. "Again?"

Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl is the next hotly anticipated entry in the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. franchise. The game is releasing over 13 years after the last entry in the series, and it's making its debut on consoles as an Xbox Series X exclusive.

Developer GSC Game World was forced to delay this title after the Russian invasion of Ukraine began and uprooted the team members' lives. Despite the hardships and tragedy every member of the team no doubt suffered, and all the sacrifices they made, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl was not abandoned and the team pushed on to continue developing the game.

The First Descendant preload guide: release time, file size, and preorder
A squad fires guns in The First Descendant.

While Destiny and Warframe are the two big names in the free-to-play looter-shooter space, The First Descendant looks like it might be able to carve out an audience for itself when it hits. Coming to most platforms on July 2, this third-person shooter using Unreal Engine 5 certainly has the looks to draw people in, but only time will tell if it has the addictive gameplay and enough content to satisfy gamers. It's not often you get to be there on day one for a live-service game like this, so plenty of people are hoping to get in as early as possible to be the first to hopefully get some overpowered gear and guns. Here are all the preload details you need if you want to be ready to roll the second the game drops.
The First Descendant release time

The First Descendant will release at midnight PT on July 2. You can check the handy map above to convert that to your local time.
The First Descendant file size
We don't have any console file sizes yet, but according to the official site's PC requirements, you will need 50GB of storage space for The First Descendant. You should estimate around that much space will be needed on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S as well.
