You know all the clichés: “Make it so!” “Set course for Earth, Warp Factor 8!” Set phasers on stun!” “Shields to maximum!” “Let’s check out the space-time anomoly—what could go wrong?” But if you think you have what it takes to make it as a Star Fleet Admiral, then Bethesda Softworks’ Star Trek: Legacy is for you—and it’s now available for the Xbox 360 as well as Windows PCs.
Star Trek: Legacy puts players in the role of Star Fleet Admiral in command of a fleet of hand-selected ships as they go into battle against some of the most renowned foes in the Star Trek universe. The game features cinematic space environments, detailed weapons effects, full damage modeling, and both a single-player campaign mode and multiplayer gaming. The game fetures more than 80 ship types and 4 playable races, including Romulans, Borg, Gorn, and Federation fleets.
The game also features the voices of all five Trek “captains” who played leading roles in the various Star Trek television series, including William Shatner, Patrick Stewart, Avery Brooks, Kate Mulgrew, and Scott Bakula, and marks the first time all five actors have participated in a single Trek project—although we suppose it’s possible many of them have cross paths on the convention circuit. Star Trek: Legacy also features story lines crafted by D.C. Fontana and her partner Derek Chester; Fontana has been a television writer since the 1960’s, and wrote for the original Star Trek series (plus served as script consultant and story editor), and contributed scripts to the Next Generation series and Deep Space Nine.
Star Trek: Legacy is rated “E 10+” for Everyone by the ESRB, and is priced at $39.99 for Windows PC, $59.99 for Xbox 360.
