Should you choose Aceles or Microbe in Starfield?

Starfield has perhaps Bethesda’s best main narrative yet, however, most people will still prefer to spend most of their playtime going through the various faction questlines. Among all the different groups out there that your character can join, one of the earliest and most appealing is the UC Vanguard. During one of these faction quests called “A Legacy Forged,” you will have a critical decision to make regarding the use of either Aceles or Microbes to stop the deadly Terromorph threat. The consequences of which one you pick won’t be made clear until after you commit, so here are the repercussions of each decision in Starfield.

Should you choose Aceles or Microbe?

The Terromorphs are a created species designed to completely destroy whatever environment they encounter and must not be allowed to propagate. To contain this threat, Abello from the UC Council presents you with two options to destroy the Terromorphs: Aceles and Microbes.

Aceles are another species that is the only one capable of hunting and killing the Terromorphs. By allowing them to breed and hunt down the Terromorphs, you can end the threat safely, but over a longer period and at a higher cost.

The Microbe mentioned is a bioweapon that will infect the Terromorphs essentially all at once to wipe them out. However, the Microbe will also infect any nearby flora and fauna, essentially killing anything else nearby as collateral damage. It will end the threat in one shot, yes, but at the cost of many innocent lives as well.

Both will result in the Terromorphs being stopped, but the choice comes down to whether you want to deal with it in a more “natural” way by using a natural predator or dropping a chemical bomb of sorts that is indiscriminate in what it will infect. Your choice won’t impact your reward or the narrative beyond this, though some Companions may not agree with one choice or the other.

Minecraft tips and tricks: everything you need to know to get started
minecraft dungeons cross platform support

While Minecraft came from humble origins, the game is no longer as simple as its friendly graphics imply. This sandbox game has been expanded, updated, and iterated on for over 10 years now and is arguably more popular then ever. It has spawned several spinoff games like Minecraft Dungeons and Minecraft Legends, as well as a feature film, but that core game is still where most people spend their time. As open-ended as Minecraft is, no tutorial can cover all the important bases. That shouldn't stop you from giving the game a try, no matter how intimidating it might look. We'll give you a complete guide on all the essential tips and tricks you need to become a master crafter in Minecraft.
Mining and crafting
The name Minecraft isn't just a catchy moniker but tells you the two most important mechanics in the game: mining and crafting.
Mine efficiently

Almost everything in Minecraft requires mining to find or collect. This includes oars, materials, and loot that don't appear anywhere else. Because you're going to do so much of it, it is important to do it as efficiently as possible.

The fastest ways to level up in Throne and Liberty
A group of fantasy warriors fighting a golem in Throne and Liberty.

While Throne and Liberty has a lot of unique aspects to it, such as being classless and allowing you to freely change your role by just swapping weapons, it still sticks to many of the tried and true tropes of MMORPGs. Leveling up your character is one aspect that will be familiar to anyone, and the ultimate goal will be to hit the max level as fast as you can. The game will get you hooked by handing out levels like candy in the first few hours, but then the grind sets in. There are a lot of different things you can do to earn XP, but not all of them are the best bang for your buck if your goal is to be as efficient as possible leveling up. These are the fastest ways to grind levels in Throne and Liberty.
The fastest ways to level up in Throne and Liberty

Leveling up is a simple process of earning XP just like a traditional RPG. Alongside increasing your character's stats, you also get rewards along the way in the Leveling Log, so don't forget to claim those as you grind.
Complete the main story
It should come as no surprise that the main story quests are the most lucrative source of XP in Throne and Liberty. These are generally quick and dump enough XP for you to take on the next one in most cases, but eventually will hit a few walls. These are especially important to focus on in the early game because you're let loose long before all the mechanics and features of the game are unlocked. They will also open up new activities and ways to earn XP once you run out of them or feel like changing things up.
Do Appendix Quests as they unlock
Speaking of those new features, Appendix Quests occasionally appear between story missions as branches on the chart in the Codex. These are glorified tutorials on the new mechanics or features the game introduced during the story to give you a better understanding of them. Even if you fully understand them, doing the quests is a fast and easy way to get a quick shot of XP and rewards.

Starfield: Shattered Space’s new planet will include 50 locations

We're finally learning more about Starfield's first major expansion just weeks ahead of release, and it won't just be more story.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Bethesda Game Studios revealed that the new planet for the Shattered Space expansion, known as Va'ruun'kai, will have 50 new locations to explore. We know of one location already: Dazra, a city on the planet that serves as the location for House Va'ruun. Learning more about this religious faction -- set up in the base game as something of a mystery -- and what happened to it is the main goal in Shattered Space. It'll overall take place in a new part of space that players haven't gotten to experience yet.
