- How we chose these projectors for Black Friday
TVs can take up a lot of space, especially the big ones. Projectors are a cool way to get around that in your home and are the gold standard for theaters, but they can be just as expensive as a TV. However, as you may know, November means Black Friday is coming up. Officially starting on November 29, you can actually get started buying now with early Black Friday deals. As retailers know that you want something now, the early deals can be just as good as the “official” ones that come much later, and include many of the best projectors on the market. Whether its from Walmart, Amazon or early Best Buy Black Friday deals, there are great prices on projectors out there, starting now. Also, while you’re at it, you may also want to check out some early Black Friday TV deals if you decide a projector isn’t the best solution for you. In any event, here are the top deals we’re seeing now.
Vankyo Leisure 470 Pro — $150 $170 12% off
This is a fantastic entry-level projector that can get a good 1080p cast onto your wall in less than a minute of setup after you try it out the first time. At this low price it is a quick pickup for anyone requiring a projector under $500.
Asus ZenBeam Latte L1 — $325 $399 19% off
This is considered to be one of the best portable projectors — partially for its carriability and good throw, partially for its nice internal speakers that will free up space in your to-go bag. At $325, it can certainly add to your good time without hurting your budget.
Nebula Mars 3 Outdoor Portable Project w/ Travel Case — $970 $1,150 15% off
If you want an outdoor projector setup, this is the way to go. The Nebula Mars 3 has IPX3 water resistance, meaning it can handle a light drizzle, and it also doubles as a power bank should you need an emergency phone charge while you’re on the go. In this quirky deal, you get the Nebula Mars 3 with a travel case for less money than you can usually get the projector by itself.
Optoma UHD38x Bright — $999 $1,101 9% off
This Optoma projector works as one of the best gaming projectors with its 240Hz refresh rate, 4K cast, and enhanced gaming mode. Get it now while it’s less than $1,000.
Samsung 130-inch Class The Premier LSP9T — $4,499 $5,245 14% off
This is one of the best ultra short throw projectors you can buy, allowing you to cast a full image close to the wall and ensuring nobody gets in the way of the image when they go to the restroom or get another drink. When you get it now, you can save just over $750.
How to choose a projector on Black Friday
There are many types of projectors, and it is hard to cover all of them. From the perspective of the customer looking for a deal, however, there are three broad categories you might consider: Budget, fun for on-the-go, and premium.
A good budget projector is something you can pull out for novelty or, if you’re a rare TV user, as a TV replacement sometimes. Budget projectors are fun, cost under $500, and functionally save space around the house (there’s no TV). You might very well find a big deal on a budget projector during deals season.
The fun for on-the-go projector category is when you want to watch something with your family or crew while on vacation. They should be lightweight and easy to setup, as well as have some battery life. Unless you just happen to have a motorhome with a flat white surface, be aware that you’ll likely need a screen in addition to the projector. Expect to pay around $1,000 for one of these unless you catch a particularly awesome deal.
Lastly, there are premium projectors, where the sky is the limit for price. Ensure you get a quality 4K resolution and high brightness on a premium projector. Also consider a short-throw projector for your permanent home setup, as this will help free up movement space in your theater room.
How we chose these projectors for Black Friday
The preceding projectors were chosen to give you a wide range of applications for a projector while also giving you a chance to pick up a projector, no matter your budget.
