We’ve known since the week of Christmas that OLED technology would be the linchpin to LG’s CES 2013 announcements, but the company saved the all-important pricing details for the opening of the show. LG announced at its Monday-morning press conference that its 55-inch OLED TVs will begin selling in the United States in March, to the tune of $12,000. Pricing for the 65-inch model hasn’t yet been announced. For the lucky few that will perk up at that news instead of flinching, LG will begin accepting preorders online immediately.

As for a the rest of us, here’s a roundup of all the other new tech LG will be showing off at CES 2013.

  • We’ll see no less than 47 new HDTVs from LG this year, which are now exclusively lit by LEDs rather than CCFLs.
  • Google TV fans will be able to choose from among seven new models from LG, which will run version 3 of the platform and range in size from 42 to 60 inches.
  • LG’s new laser projector can throw a 100-inch screen sitting just 22 inches away from the screen.
  • Home audio gurus will be able to choose from four new soundbars, two of which have Internet streaming from Pandora and Netflix built in.
  • Two new Blu-ray players will work with LG’s Wii-style Magic Motion remotes.

55-inch Sansui OLED smart TV with frameless design, subwoofer built-in, and karaoke support

TVs today have grown sophisticated enough to cut down on the bezels -- those thick edges that surround the display. But they still exist in most cases, and depending on how they're shaped it can ruin some of the immersion of home theater experiences. Why am I talking about all of this? Because there is an incredible deal on a frameless 55-inch Sansui OLED smart Google TV for Black Friday. This TV is absolutely stunning. It drops all the bezels and frames, hence the name, and opens up the entire display to the 4K UHD pixels and visuals. I'm going to go out on a limb and proclaim this is one of the best Black Friday TV deals, and certainly one of the most unique. Plus, on top of the frameless design, it's an OLED panel. The deal gets you this bad boy for $600 instead of $899, saving you $299. Oh, yes. But the deal ends December 13 so don't waste time.

Channeling the near-infinite contrast ratios and wide color gamuts of the plasma TVs of yesteryear, brands like LG are able to produce OLEDs that, at times, can even rival the brightness of some LED-LCD models while still bringing the inky black levels that OLEDs are renowned for.

Right now, you’ll be able to find OLED and QD-OLED sets from the best TV brands, such as LG, Samsung, and Sony, as well as Panasonic and Sansui, all of which are represented on this list. LG C4 OLED

LG has been producing some of the best OLED TVs for several years, and it’s good to see the brand shows no signs of stopping. LG OLEDs deliver rich colors, deep contrast, and some of the brightest OLED picture without any type of LED backlighting. And while we see plenty of TV deals, we can’t stop thinking about how good this Walmart offer is:

For a limited time, when you purchase the LG 65-inch C4 Series OLED at Walmart, you’ll pay $1,496. At full price, this model sells for $1,716. We tested the LG C4 a few months ago, and editor at large Caleb Denison had this to say: “This LG OLED EVO C4 is so good, we think that everyone should have this TV.” Several other sizes are on sale as well.
