Internet tough guys beware: the police actually are out there paying attention to the ridiculous claims you make on the Web. They may not chase you down for threatening someone after a particularly cheap shot in Counter-Strike, but as two Miami men learned, when you appear on YouTube brandishing automatic weapons and threatening the police, it’s a different story.
According to ABC News, Rudy Villanueva and Tony Logan were both arrested this week after posting a video on YouTube in which they showed off a shotgun, assault rifle and handguns, and told the police to come get them. “Metro Dade Gang Unit, here I am baby,” Villanueva said in the video. “Come get it,” Logan taunted. And they did.
Both men are alleged members of the Bird Road Boys gang. A search of Logan’s home turned up two of the guns believed to be the in the video. Villanueva, as a three-time convicted felon, is forbidden from possessing firearms, and both men are charged with federal firearms violations.
As it turns out, the title of their YouTube video, “Bird Road Getting in Trouble,” has turned out to be quite accurate.
