Iconic singer-songwriter Bob Dylan is in negotiations to become a voice giving directions on a satnav. At least that’s what he told listeners to his The Time Radio Hour, claiming he’d been approached by more than one manufacturer. He said:
“You know I don’t usually like to tell people what I’m doing, but I’m talking to a couple of car companies about the possibility of being the voice of their GPS system.”
“I think it would be good if you are looking for directions and you heard my voice saying something like, ‘Left at the next street…. No, right… You know what? Just go straight. I probably shouldn’t do it because whichever way I go, I always end up at one place – Lonely Avenue.”
A few celebrities have already given their voices for GPS, including Mr. T, Homer Simpson, and John Cleese, while other units offer impersonators.
But Dylan might be just who you need if you’re stick in Mobile with those Memphis blues again.
