Summary
Whether you’re carrying a hot new 13″ MacBook or any other 12″ Windows-based laptop, you’re going to need some sort of protection for that new production tool/toy. Incase, a California company that is well known for their laptop and iPod sleeves, guitar bags and backpacks, has an ultra simple laptop sleeve that could be a perfect fit for your needs.
The Incase 13″ Neoprene Sleeve is a thick, well constructed and durable slip cover designed for MacBook laptops. The neoprene material is, of course, the same type of material used for surfers’ wetsuits. If you’ve ever lived in northern Cali, the very smell of this Incase sleeve may conjure memories of catching waves at Beer Can or The Hook.
The sleeve fits the 13″ MacBook perfectly – tight like a wetsuit would fit, but not so tight that it’s hard to insert or remove your laptop. The neoprene and internal felt padding is 5mm thick, so it provides a nice, soft scratch-free fit and a minimal (yet appreciable) amount of shock protection. The sleeve has a plastic zipper line to prevent zipper scratches on your laptop’s case, and a rubber-coated zipper hasp just for looks. The sleeve comes in four colors – rich black, olive, pink and tan.
The only downside to the neoprene sleeve is the fact that it has no handles or carrying strap. That’s the way most sleeves are, but it still remains a very minor annoyance.
At $34.95 USD, the Incase Neoprene Laptop Sleeve is a very inexpensive, effective and hip way to protect your valued laptop. Of course, it’s available at Incase’s website or at nearly every Apple store.
