The tale of Apple rejecting apps for the iPhone continues to be told…now, it appears, not only has Apple rejected the Google Voice application for the device, but it’s also dumped a pair of third party applications that use Google Voice.
Google Voice lets users receive voicemail transcriptions and keep the same phone number for as long as they choose, even if they change carriers. More importantly, perhaps, it also allows users to make free text and long distance calls.
That, of course, wouldn’t be something to please Apple’s iPhone partner, AT&T.
The third-party apps, GV Mobile and VoiceCentral, were quietly dropped from the App Store.
