The Apple Watch isn’t out yet, but it already has a strange charging stand

We don’t know exactly when the Apple Watch will launch in 2015, but at least we already know about one of its upcoming accessories. The accessory company Standoutz has announced at CES its new docking station for the Apple Watch, called Bandstand.

Bandstand is a charging stand for your new Apple Watch, but it’s also an all-in-one charging station for your other Apple devices. The rather gargantuan and unusually ugly accessory sits on your desk with a swiveling, magnetic docking station that connects to the Apple Watch. Under the docking station are additional charging ports for your other devices.

The Bandstand needs to be plugged into the wall with an AC adapter as opposed to a port on your Macbook, at least according to its diagram.

The idea behind Bandstand is that you can swivel the dock on a 360-degree angle in order to use your watch as a clock in your room while it charges. The Bandstand also features an interchangeable panel for custom colors, so orange doesn’t have to be the look of your Apple Watch dock. The design of Bandstand seems to look more like a watch display case than a docking station, though beauty is in the eye of the beholder, right?

The developers behind the Bandstand, Standoutz, haven’t yet shared pricing and availability – but they plan to have it out alongside the Apple Watch launch in 2015. If you’re interested, you can join their waiting list to know when it becomes available.

The Apple Watch 10 already has a price cut at Amazon
The Apple Watch Series 10 on someone's wrist with the screen on.

The Apple Watch Series 10, which was just rolled out last week, is already available with a discount from the Apple Watch deals of Amazon. The wearable device's GPS, 46mm model was originally priced at $429, but it's now on sale for $399. The $30 off may not look like much, but it's a nice bonus, especially if you were already thinking about buying Apple's latest smartwatch in the first place. We're not sure how much time is remaining on this offer though, so if you want to enjoy a little bit of savings with our purchase, you better hurry.

Why you should buy the Apple Watch Series 10
We gave the Apple Watch Series 10 a rating of 4 out of 5 stars in our review of the wearable device, which we described as "another strong entry in the Apple Watch family." It offers impressive hardware, including a new speaker that will allow you to play music and podcasts on the smartwatch, and faster charging speeds to replenish its all-day battery life. The health and fitness features of the Apple Watch Series 10 is extremely comprehensive, with the new Vitals app providing an easy way of monitoring your body daily. Unfortunately blood oxygen tracking isn't available in the US, and there's no definite date on when it will return.

I don’t want to say goodbye to my Apple Watch Ultra
A person wearing the Apple Watch Ultra.

I probably shouldn’t have done it, but ahead of saying goodbye to my original Apple Watch Ultra, I put it back on to test out watchOS 11.

Why shouldn’t I have reacquainted myself with Apple’s chunkiest smartwatch? Despite initially not being that bothered about moving on, I’m now having second thoughts about it.
Why I'm getting rid of my Ultra

If you use these Apple Watch faces, you won’t like watchOS 11
amazon memorial day sale 2019 apple watch explorer face

Recently, many people have been updating their existing Apple Watches to watchOS 11. Meanwhile, others have been eagerly awaiting the arrival of their new Apple Watch Series 10 or black Apple Watch Ultra 2 models, which come with watchOS 11 preinstalled. While this update adds many great features, it also removes some options.

Four watch faces have been removed from watchOS 11: the Chronograph, Explorer, Numerals, and Siri faces. Although it makes sense that Siri’s face has been removed because the new Smart Stack essentially replaces it, eliminating the others is indeed puzzling.
