If you own a smartphone, investing in a screen protector is a no-brainer. You’re going to drop your phone at some point. BodyGuardz, the maker of many screen protection products, knows that. The company took the opportunity at CES 2015 to unveil a new line of defense against cracks and scratches: The BodyGuardz Crown.
BodyGuardz calls the Crown the “next evolution in screen protection,” created to fit and protect phones with curved edges. The Crown is a patent-pending design, a “custom-molded rim made of anodized aluminum.” It’s designed to work in line with the ScreenGuardz Pure to provide edge-to-edge protection on devices like the iPhone 6 and Galaxy Note 4.
“The increased prevalence of curved screens and edges has created a problem for people looking to find edge-to-edge screen protection for their smartphones,” said BodyGuardz President and CEO Kirk Feller in a statement. “The Crown is not a screen protector but rather screen protection and yet another innovative BodyGuardz solution in our pursuit of the ultimate device protection.”
While BodyGuardz has the Crown on display on the CES show floor, it won’t be available to the public until February 2015. Once it hits store shelves, it will be available for the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus as well as the Galaxy Note 4. The price will vary between $40 and $45 depending on the device.
