Does the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 come with a charger?

Samsung launched two foldable smartphones in 2022 — one of which is the Galaxy Z Flip 4. Similar to other Z Flip models, the Flip 4 is essentially a modern take on the classic flip phone. When it’s open, it works like any other Android handset. But when you’re done using it, you can fold it shut into a small, pocketable square.

However, as it has become common these days for some smartphone manufacturers to ship their phones without a charging brick, you might wonder whether the Galaxy Z Flip 4 comes with one or not. Let’s find out.

Unfortunately, you won’t be getting a charging brick inside the Z Flip 4’s box. The box contents of the phone comprise:

  • A Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4
  • A USB-C-to-C cable
  • A SIM ejection tool

That said, Samsung not including a charger with the phone shouldn’t come as a surprise. The company’s recent top-of-the-line smartphones, including the Z Flip 4’s predecessor — the Galaxy Z Flip 3 — shipped without one. Even some other popular brands like Google and Xiaomi have stopped giving charging adapters with their flagship smartphones.

Going back in time, the trend was first started by Apple with the launch of the iPhone 12 lineup. Back then, Samsung even trolled the Cupertino-based tech giant for not providing a charger with its phones on social media platforms. Funnily enough, the company itself has now stopped shipping most of its flagship phones with a charger in the box.

The Galaxy Z Flip 4 supports fast charging

Last year’s Galaxy Z Flip 3 housed a 3,300mAh battery inside and had support for 15W fast charging. This year, Samsung has upgraded the smartphone on both these fronts. The Galaxy Z Flip 4 now gets a bigger 3,700mAh cell, and the fast charging now tops at 25W. There’s support for 10W wireless charging, too, the same as its predecessor.

Still, the Galaxy Z Flip 4’s charging speed is a lot slower when compared to some other recently launched flagship mobiles. For comparison, the recently launched OnePlus 10T embraces 150W fast charging (120W in the U.S.), and the iQoo 9T’s charging speed maxes out at 120W. Both these smartphones can charge from 0% to 100% in just under 30 minutes. On the other hand, the Z Flip 4, according to Samsung, can juice up its battery to 50% in around half an hour — if charged with a 25W power adapter. Still, those sorts of super-fast charging speeds aren’t close to common yet, and most large manufacturers are keeping wattage low, so don’t feel like you’re missing out too much.

If you already have a charger with over 22W of output and a USB-C port lying around, you could use it to juice up your smartphone. Otherwise, you can grab Samsung’s official 25W power adapter. Samsung Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition is slimmer, yet more powerful

Samsung has just pulled a bit of a surprise by giving a svelte design makeover to its flagship foldable phone. Earlier today, the company introduced the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition in its home market.

The latest foldable phone from Samsung makes a couple of key upgrades in the design and camera departments. First, Samsung has shaved off 1.5 millimeters of thickness compared to the Galaxy Z Fold 6. The weight, however, has only reduced by 3 grams, so it's hardly much of a difference.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 is one of the most popular phones of the year. It's easy to see why, as it's packed with features and high-end specs — our own Andy Boxall gave it four out of five stars in his review. It's successor is on the way, though — and we might just have a release date for the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition, thanks to a leak from a Korean publication.

One rumor suggested the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition would be released on October 18 — just two days from now — but this new information throws a wrench into that. The site FNNews published a story that said the Z Fold Slim (another name for the Special Edition) will be released on the 25th of this month.

Leaked images of what appears to be a special edition of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 have surfaced, offering a few glimpses of the upcoming foldable phone. While the images don't reveal the complete picture, they confirm some key design elements and hint at potential color options. These images were posted on X by Evan Blass and later mentioned by Android Headlines.

One image showcased shows a prominent rear camera bump housing three lenses. While this confirms a triple-camera setup, it seems that a periscope telephoto lens won't be included, potentially disappointing those hoping for enhanced zoom capabilities.
