I love this easily repairable phone at a decent Cyber Week price

It’s rare to find a smartphone that has a unique feature these days, and especially one that’s available at a bargain price. The HMD Skyline happens to tick both those boxes with its genuinely simple repairability and sizable discount on its normal price in Amazon’s Cyber Week deal.

Normally $500, the HMD Skyline is $475 through Amazon right now, and not only is it an unlocked phone ready for use with the AT&T, T-Mobile, Cricket, and Tracfone networks but the price also applies to the three different color variations. This is important because although you could choose the basic black version, you should go for the far more eye-catching Blue Topaz or Neon Pink model.

The reason is not just because brightly colored phones are better but also because it recalls the wonderful world of Nokia’s Windows Phones, the design of which the HMD Skyline very effectively homages. It’s no coincidence either, as HMD (formally HMD Global, now known as Human Made Devices, or HMD) has the license to put the Nokia name on mobile phones. The design really won me over when I reviewed the Skyline, particularly because the phone is so comfortable to hold, a design aspect that’s not always a given these days.

The HMD Skyline’s $475 price means it keeps pace with a lot of excellent phones like the OnePlus Nord 4, the Samsung Galaxy A35 and Galaxy A55, along with the Nothing Phone 2a, but none of these provide a way to quickly and easily change a broken screen, a battery past its best, or even the speaker at home, yourself.

Cheaper and more convenient than taking it to a specialist, HMD has made repairing the Skyline very simple through its partnership with iFixit, and it’s a real rarity today. I successfully took the Skyline apart with a very basic set of tools in just a few minutes, and I’ve watched an HMD representative replace the screen in under 10 minutes. It’s that easy.

If you want a new smartphone with hardware that’s going to last, the HMD Skyline is worth considering at this price, particularly if you’re prone to dropping or accidentally damaging your devices. HMD has prioritized hardware repairability over its software update policy, but does still promise to deliver two main Android version updates along with three years of security updates.

The HMD Skyline sets itself apart from the competition not through the camera but through its great design and simple repairability. At $475, it’s a much better deal than it is at the usual price, and it may just prove to be the phone that lasts you the longest, just because you can easily fix any accidental damage yourself.

There’s a hidden coupon that makes this Cyber Monday smartwatch deal even sweeter
A person wearing the Mobvoi TicWatch Atlas.

I often hear complaints about battery life being too short on a smartwatch, but there is a solution to the issue, and the model in question happens to be my pick of the wearable deals out there this Cyber Monday. The smartwatch is the Mobvoi Ticwatch Pro 5, and I’ve easily stretched the battery life out to four days on a single charge with all the health tech active. Use the smartwatch’s extended battery mode, and it will continue working for weeks.

Now that I’ve got your attention regarding the battery life, I have some great news on your choice of model and the price, should you decide to buy one. Mobvoi has discounted all its current smartwatches for Cyber Monday on Amazon, and because they’re variations on the same theme, you have a choice of styles without sacrificing features or the brilliant battery life. This is because they all share the same dual-screen technology, with the primary OLED showing Google’s Wear OS and the secondary LCD taking care of the ambient display. It’s a clever system that maximizes battery life.

The 11-inch iPad Pro M2 sold out, but you can get the iPad Pro M4 for the same price
iPad Pro with M2 inside.

If you've been looking forward to the arrival of this year's Cyber Monday Apple deals. it's time to get excited. There are some excellent deals. Best Buy was offering the Wi-Fi + Cellular model of the 11-inch Apple iPad Pro M2 for only $1,099, following a $1,000 discount that nearly halved the tablet's original price of $2,099. But since there's always high demand for savings on Apple's iPad from Cyber Monday deals, that offer is sold out. Don't panic, though. Best Buy also has the 11-inch Apple iPad Pro with M4 Chip for the same price -- $1,099. It's only a savings of $100, down from $1,199, but that's still a fantastic price. We highly recommend shopping this deal before it sells out too.

Why you should buy the 11-inch Apple iPad Pro M4 instead
The Apple iPad Pro M2 wasn't the latest version of the powerful tablet -- that distinction goes to the Apple iPad Pro M4, yet both have rightfully taken their place in our list of the best iPads as the best premium option. Since the first deal on the M2 model sold out, you're getting the best of the best right now for the same price, anyway.
