Irish Not Happy At iPhone Limits

Irish Not Happy At iPhone LimitsThe O2 franchise for the iPhone includes Ireland, but the company hasn’t been in any rush to enter that market. Infact, it will only be on the 14th of this month that the first Irish customers will be able to buy the iPhone.   Don’t expect a mob of buyers, however, since consumerswon’t be enchanted with the deal in Erin.   The phones, which will be sold through O2 and Carphone Warehouse stores will go for around $800for the 8GB model and $900 for the 16GB, in a deal that includes three tariffs that begin at $90 a month.   But on that lowest tariff, Irish iPhone users will only receive 175 minues and 100texts – compared to the 600 minutes and 500 texts on the lowest rate in the UK, Vnunet reports.   To add insult to injury, there will be a 1GB datacap, as opposed to the unlimited fair use given to customer in the US and UK, and no free Wi-Fi.

A special battery makes this new phone different from others
The Honor Magic7 Lite's colors.

According to Honor, the new Magic7 Lite has a special, industry-first battery inside it, making it slightly more interesting than your average midrange smartphone. But what is new about it? The Magic7 Lite has a silicon-carbon battery instead of the more common lithium-ion battery, which allows for a greater capacity without increasing physical size.

The Magic7 Lite’s silicon-carbon battery has a whopping 6,600mAh capacity, and Honor estimates this will return nearly 26 hours of video playback on a single charge. It will also reliably operate in both hot and cold environments. Using its AI technology, Honor’s software will squeeze a 50-minute call out of the remaining 2% of the battery, which will make it useful in emergency situations. Using silicon can also assist with efforts to reduce the use of fossil fuels.

Apple Intelligence on iPhone 15 Pro.

Whether you love or hate it, AI doesn’t appear to be going away anytime soon. In fact, AI is evolving quite rapidly, and it’s now in the palms of our hands with our smartphones, as Google, Samsung, and even Apple have now fully embraced our AI future.

Though Apple was late to the game with Apple Intelligence, the company majorly hyped it up for the iPhone 16 launch in September, even though, amazingly, it did not roll out until October with the iOS 18.1 update. The staggered release schedule for Apple Intelligence confused many consumers as to why they did not have Apple Intelligence immediately with their iPhone 16 purchases, and it felt like a big misstep from Apple.

I’m giving up on Apple Photos
The Apple Photos logo on an iPhone.

A little over a year ago, I wrote about a very silly purchase that I made. I signed up for a 2TB Google One plan, even though I was already paying for a 2TB iCloud plan.

My intention was simple. I liked having all of my images in Apple Photos since I regularly use an iPhone, but I also wanted a reliable place to access all of my pictures when I use an Android phone. As such, I took it upon myself to back up and organize all my pictures across Google Photos and Apple Photos simultaneously.
