Trendy electronics maker Klegg is looking to burst out of the world of boutique media players and flat panel televisions with its new mass market Genesis by Klegg brand—and it’s also looking to expand its product offerings with two new GPS systems intended to combine style and functionality and media-player capabilities.
The Genesis GPS V-12 G01 and G02 sport different color schemes (white and black, respectively) and shell designs, but offer identical specs: a 3.5 inch 420 by 240 touch screen LCD display, mini-USB connectivity, SD/MMC card slot for storage, rechargeable lithium-polymer batteries, a stereo headphone output jack, a built-in mic (listed as somehow "optional")—and Klegg even plans to throw in a 1 GB SD card with each unit. Klegg touts the systems as offering playback capabilities for your favorite music, images, and videos while als being able to offer door-to-door directions to your destinations, and even let you look up nearby businesses and "facilities." However, Klegg hasn’t announced other details about the units, like pricing, availability, or what maps and software the systems will use. But Klegg does plan to include a window mount for in-vehicle use—which, for some folks, will make all the difference.
