If you’re having trouble deciding between a bulkier phone with a QWERTY keyboard and a slimmer phone without, LG’s new Versa might be the ideal compromise: Its keyboard snaps off and on again, allowing it to be either depending on your mood. LG officially unveiled the new phone, which is bound for Verizon, on Thursday.
The three-inch touch-screen phone can either stand alone, or snap into a leather-like folio that opens to reveal a large QWERTY keyboard opposite the screen. Its intended to boost the versatility of the phone by allowing users to leave the keyboard at home when it isn’t needed, slimming down the phone.
A detachable keyboard isn’t all that sets it apart, though. The Versa also includes a new 3D animated interface, and impressively, a full HTML browser that will also do Flash. More modest features include a 2.0-megapixel camera, music player, and of course, Bluetooth.
Verizon will begin offering the phone on March 1, priced at $200 with a two-year contract.
