In a deal that is nearly impossible to bear, Microsoft is selling three of its WP7 phones directly from its official site for $0.01. The Verizon HTC Trophy, Sprint HTC Arrive, and T-Mobile HTC HD7 are all listed for a mere penny with a new two-year voice and data contact from now until July 2. Planning on getting yourself a new subscription with any of these carriers and you’re looking at an impossibly affordable new WP7 smartphone. The Verizon HTC Trophy usually retails for $150 with a new contract and $429 without, just for comparison’s sake. Microsoft has yet to release sales figures for WP7, but there has been massive speculation its experiencing some stuggle.
Not to be deterred, Microsoft is furthering sweetening the deal with 4,000 Xbox LIVE points. Interested in taking advantage of the promotion? Here’s a quick rundown of each handset:
Verizon HTC Trophy – regularly $150 with new two-year contract
- Features SRS WOW HD Sound
- 5-megapixel camera with HD video
- World phone
- 3.8-inch WVGA display; 480×800 resolution
- Single-core processor
Sprint HTC Arrive – regularly $200 with new two-year contract
- 5-megapixel camera with HD video
- 3.6-inch WVGA touchscreen display
- Slide-out QWERTY keyboard
- Spring-loaded tilt screen
T-Mobile HTC HD7 – regularly $199.99 with new two-year contract
- 4.3-inch LCD touchscreen display
- 16GB storage capacity

And it’s important to note we said this deal is nearly impossible to beat for a reason. T-Mobile is currently giving the HTC HD7 away – literally. The phone is free with a new two-year contract through today only if you purchase it online. Sounds like there may be more red tape though, as the fine print says “you may quality for a $300 instant discount and a $199.99 Web-only discount.”
