If you’ve been thinking about picking up a Moto X, Cyber Monday could be the day to do it, with maker Motorola offering $150 on all off-contract models, which includes the Moto Maker version and Developer Edition.
So, buy a regular Moto X and you’ll be paying $350 for the 16GB version or $400 for the 32GB version. The 32GB Developer Edition variant, usually selling for $550, will also be available for $400.
In a post on its Google+ page, Motorola said the discounts will apply throughout Monday, though it looks like you’ll have to be quick off the mark as “supplies will be limited.”
The Google-owned mobile company promises to announce more details about the offer in the coming days, so check back here to see what comes up.
The Moto X handset has generated a lot of interest since hitting the market back in the summer, in part because it’s Motorola’s first smartphone launch since Google acquired the company in 2012.
The Android phone has been marketed heavily on its vast array of customization options, as well as the company’s claim that it’s the first and only smartphone to be assembled in the US.
The 4.7-inch device comes with a 1280 x 720 display, 10-megapixel rear camera and 2-megapixel front, 1.7GHz dual-core processor, and 2GB of RAM.
DT’s Mobile editor Jeffrey Van Camp gave the Moto X smartphone a healthy 4/5 rating, praising it for its “phenomenal” customization capabilities, excellent Google Now functionality, and powerful processors.
However, a sub-par camera and absence of a MicroSD slot, among a few other things, prevented the device from picking up a 5-star rating.
In conclusion, he said the new handset offers “a lean, almost pure Google Android experience, with a few nice extras and amazing Google Now support,” adding, “This is our favorite Android phone for iPhone defectors.”
Motorola’s Monday-only offer for its new handset kicks off at 8am CST.
