HTC is holding a one day sale on the new HTC One M8 smartphone, and has reduced the standard on-contract price by half, taking it down to $100. For this you’ll need to sign-up for a two year contract, or be eligible for an upgrade. The offer can be found on HTC’s website, where you can pick up the phone through AT&T, Sprint, or Verizon.
All three networks have the Gunmetal Grey version for sale, but if you’d prefer the Glacial Silver One M8, you’ll have to choose between AT&T and Verizon. Sadly, we don’t yet know if it will include the new Harman/Kardon special edition of the phone, recently announced by Sprint. We’ll update when the page is fully live.
Announced at the end of March, the One M8 became instantly available through Verizon, with most other networks joining it less than two weeks later. The price hovered around $200 with a two-year contract, although we have seen it drop to $150 provided you purchased the phone through Amazon. Several networks also offered a buy-one-get-one-free deal.
We awarded the HTC One M8 a favorable four out of five stars in our review, saying its design was up to Apple’s standards, and new features such as the Duo Camera are interesting and work well. On a technical level, it’s up there with most other range-topping Android smartphones this year, boasting a 5-inch, 1080p screen, and a quad-core Snapdragon chip. It’s the gorgeous metal chassis which really makes it stand out.
If you’ve been eyeing an HTC One M8, but haven’t yet taken the plunge, now would be a good time, but you’ll have to be quick. The $100 offer runs from 12:01 a.m. CST on May 8 to 11:59 p.m. on the same day.
