Sony unveiled its next-generation portable entertainment system today in Tokyo. The device previously referred to as the PSP 2, now known as the Next Generation Portable, will feature a multi-touch 5-inch OLED display, a high-performance CPU and GPU, a unique multi-touch pad on the rear, Wi-Fi and 3G connectivity, motion control, two control sticks, and most impressively, will be capable of playing PS3 games. Sony also announced the new Android platform called PS Suite, which will give the NGP and other compatible devices access to Sony’s own PlayStation Store. No official pricing or released date has been confirmed to this point, but expect the NGP to be upwards of $250 with a likely holiday 2011 release date.
