T-Mobile has announced the new myTouch 4G Slide, claiming that the HTC-built handset sports the most advanced camera available in any smartphone: an 8 megapixel resolution, zero shutter lag, excellent low-light performance, and easy panorama, HDR, and burst modes so users can quickly capture events and special moments. Plus, the myTouch 4G slide runs Android 2.3, features a slide-out QWERTY keypad, and a 1.2 GHz processor.

“Knowing that the best camera is the one you’ve got with you, we set out to create a new best-in-class smartphone that allows our customers to leave their cameras at home,” said T-Mobile USA senior VP of marketing Andrew Sherrard, in a statement. “Our newest myTouch device takes capturing and sharing memories to a new level by combining high-quality smartphone hardware with features that customers would expect from a top-of-the-line digital camera.”

The myTouch 4G Slide camera features a wide aperture lens (ƒ/2.2), a dual-LED flash, and zero shutter lag so users can be sure they’re capturing the exact moment when they snap a picture. The camera also features a SweepShot panorama mode for capturing a panorama in a single motion, ClearShot HDR for high-contrast lighting shots, and a burst mode for capturing action. The camera can also shoot 1080p high-definition video and record audio at the same time: users can also edit videos directly on the phone.

As a handset the myTouch 4G slide features a 3.7-inch touchscreen display, Android 2.3 with HTC Sense 3.0 running on top of it, along with a 1.2 GHz Qualcomm SnapDragon processor—and the whole thing runs on T-Mobile’s “4G” HSPA+ network for mobile broadband capability. T-Mobile is also pre-loading a bunch of communications and entertainment apps, including Netflix and YouTube, along with Qik-powered T-Mobile Video Chat and Bobsled-powered Group Text.

T-Mobile will put the myTouch 4G Slider on sale in July for $199.99 with a two-year service contract; it’ll be available with black or khaki cases.

The Xiaomi 14 Ultra Andy Boxall / Digital Trends

I already held the Xiaomi 14 Ultra’s camera in high regard after having reviewed the phone and tested it out against other cameras. I especially loved the versatility of the brilliant Photography Kit accessory. But most of this happened earlier on in the year before other brands had the chance to release serious competitors. I knew I had to give it another try, just to be sure of my feelings.

Samsung’s trifold foldable might launch in 2025, and we can’t wait
The hinge on the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6.

Last month, we first heard whispers of a potential trifold phone from Samsung. The leak came from a source with a reputable track record, but now another source corroborates the information and gives it even more credibility.

Leaker Yeux1122 posted on Naver, sort of the Google of South Korea, that Samsung has the Galaxy Z Fold 7, Fold 7 FE,  and a trifold Fold 7 variant slated for release in 2025. The Fold 7 and Fold 7 FE are expected to launch at the same time, but there's no firm timeline for the rumored trifold.
