If you’re looking for a gift other than a teddy bear and chocolates for Valentine’s Day, than look no further than T-Mobile. The un-carrier brought back the Tablet on Us promo and has discounted various Android phones and accessories for a limited time.

Buying a tablet with 4G LTE connectivity can be very expensive, but T-Mobile has you covered with the chance to get the Alcatel OneTouch Pixi 7 for free. This tablet normally goes for $168, but the $7 monthly payment for 24 months gets waived as long as you sign up for a 1GB postpaid Simple Choice mobile Internet plan or higher. Payments will appear on your bill each month, but will be credited as long as you maintain the plan. All you will have to cover is the sales tax.

The Pixi 7 is a mid-range Android tablet with specs that won’t wow you, but it’s a good starter tablet. It has a 7-inch display with a rather low resolution of 960 x 540, and it sports a MediaTek quad-core processor. T-Mobile doesn’t specify the internal storage, but we believe it’s only 4GB. The good news, however, is that you can easily add up to 32GB of extra storage with a MicroSD card.

T-Mobile doesn’t say when this deal will end, but we presume it could extend just to Valentine’s Day.

If the Pixi 7 isn’t your thing, you can get a $50 discount off of the iPad Air 2 using promo code SWEETDEAL50. This brings the pricing down to $580 (16GB), $680 (64GB), and $780 (128GB) after discounts. This deal ends February 11.

If it’s a phone you’re looking for. The Un-carrier is offering $40 discounts off of the Samsung Galaxy Core Prime, Galaxy Grand Prime, and LG G Stylo using the same SWEETDEAL50 code as the iPad Air 2 offer. The pricing after discounts for these is $100, $150, and $215, respectively. You have until February 11 for this deal as well.

If both you and your sweetie need a phone, you can opt to buy two phones and get the second at one-half off. You have your choice of either the LG G4 or V10, as well as the Samsung Galaxy S6, S6 Edge, S6 Edge Plus, and Note 5. We’re not sure when this deal ends, but it makes sense to get on it sooner rather than later.

Last but not least, if your sweetie already has a phone and a tablet, T-Mobile has a few discounts on accessories. Right now you can use promo code BEATS20 to get 20 percent off of Beats headsets. You can also use PURE30 for to get 30 percent off of the PureGear lightning cable and 12W wall charger. Finally, you can get $10 off of the LG Tone Pro 760 stereo Bluetooth headset and Sunpack Bluetooth selfie wand using code BLUE10 and SELFIE, respectively.

T-Mobile is buying one of the largest carriers in the U.S.

If you were impacted by T-Mobile's latest price hike and were looking for an alternative carrier, we have some bad news — T-Mobile is buying US Cellular. For those unaware, U.S. Cellular is the fifth-largest carrier in the U.S. despite being a regional carrier based mostly in the Chicago area. Unlike mobile virtual network operators (MVNOs) like Metro by T-Mobile or Visible, which piggyback on a parent carrier’s network, US Cellular has its own towers and stores.

The deal would see T-Mobile pay $4.4 billion to take over US Cellular’s wireless customers, stores, and 30% of its spectrum assets. It includes a combination of cash and T-Mobile assuming $2 billion of U.S. Cellular’s debt. US Cellular will keep control of 4,400 of its towers and 70% of its spectrum portfolio, but T-Mobile will extend its leases for 600 US Cellular towers and sign new long-term leases on 2,015 more towers. In a conference call about the deal, T-Mobile also committed to hiring a significant number of U.S. Cellular associates.

We have bad news for you if you have an older T-Mobile wireless plan. According to internal company documents obtained by The Mobile Report, rates for your plan are going up by $2 to $5 per month.

Customers with a legacy Simple Choice, ONE, or Magenta plan will likely experience price increases. The increased price applies to each line, meaning that if you have four lines, you could potentially see a monthly increase of up to $20 per lmonth. CNET also corroborated the report with its own sources.

Have T-Mobile? Your 5G service is about to get much faster
U.S. map illustrating T-Mobile's 5G Ultra Capacity network expansion.

T-Mobile’s 5G network already offers unmatched 5G speeds and coverage throughout the U.S., with 98% of the population covered by some flavor of T-Mobile’s 5G and more than 90% benefiting from its higher-speed 5G Ultra Capacity (5G UC) network.

That translates to the “Uncarrier” taking first place in 5G performance in 46 U.S. states. However, T-Mobile isn’t content to sit at 90% coverage. It’s been working steadily to increase the footprint of its 5G UC network to reach even further, and is bringing those top speeds to areas previously served only by its lower-frequency 5G Extended Range network.
