Verizon confirms $30 unlimited data plan for iPhone

Verizon has confirmed that its version of the iPhone will have another feature no longer offered on AT&T’s model: an unlimited data plan. Lowell McAdam, Verizon’s chief operating officer, told The Wall Street Journal that his company will offer the data plan for $30 per month with no data restrictions.

“I’m not going to shoot myself in the foot,” McAdam told the Journal, referring to Verizon’s decision to offer the unlimited data plan. AT&T, Verizon’s soon-to-be iPhone competitor,  stopped offering an unlimited data plan option last year — although existing customers were able to retain their unlimited data plans.

It’s already known that Verizon’s iPhone will support wireless tethering for up to five devices. AT&T currently only offers tethering capability for an additional $20 monthly fee.

AT&T’s iPhone has an advantage in that it can perform voice and data functions simultaneously. Verizon’s iPhone only can perform one function at a time.

The iPhone 4 can’t come soon enough for Verizon. The company announced today revenue figures that left Wall Street underwhelmed. Verizon will launch the iPhone 4 on February 11.

Apple's latest iPhone 16 lineup packs in some exciting new features. The latest and greatest A18 chip brings the standard iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus duo closer to their iPhone 16 Pro counterparts than they've been in years, while the iPhone 16 Pro Max gets bigger than ever with a 6.9-inch display and the thinnest bezels of any smartphone yet.

The entire iPhone 16 family is more in harmony than ever this year, as Apple seems to have abandoned the trend of artificially limiting features like the Dynamic Island and Action Button to its Pro models, only to bring them to the standard ones a year later. Instead, this year's marquee new feature, the Camera Control, can be found on all four models. Sure, there are plenty of things that are still exclusive to the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max, like the 120Hz ProMotion Display and 5x telephoto camera, but those at least feel like valid differentiators for a "Pro" model.

A render of the iPhone Air.

Apple's iPhone sales have declined in recent years, primarily because the company has focused more on software updates than hardware improvements. However, Apple hopes this trend will change next year, as it plans to introduce new handsets with significant design upgrades.

There has been considerable discussion recently about the upcoming "iPhone 17 Air," which is anticipated to be the thinnest iPhone ever made. It is expected to be released in September alongside the rest of the iPhone 17 lineup.

The Nomad Magnetic Leather Back on the iPhone 16 Pro Max

After a long wait, iOS 18.2 has finally rolled out to the public at large and unlocked more Apple Intelligence features like Image Playground, Genmoji, and an upgraded Mail app. It might have also introduced a way to keep your hands warm on these frosty winter days, according to some users.

Reddit user u/dsdxp posted on the iPhone subreddit that they had unlocked a secret feature in the iPhone 16 Pro. The comment was obviously sardonic, but many other users responded with their own stories of troubling temperatures from their iPhones. The common element between all of the stories was the Image Playground app and the excessive heat it creates while in use.
