If you were hoping to snag a Nexus 6 via the Play Store but hit the site only to discover it’d exceeded its pre-order allocation, make sure your next visit’s on a Wednesday.
Pre-order supplies of the new phone ran dry in just a few hours after arriving on the Play Store last week, presumably leaving a good many visitors swearing quietly in the direction of Mountain View.
The company said Tuesday evening that to give customers a better chance of getting their order in, they should visit the store on a Wednesday (today if you’re reading this, like, today), which is when new stock will appear.
Of course, it would be useful to know around what time that stock might show up, but Google fails to furnish us with that information, meaning you’re still going to need a certain amount of luck to successfully get your order in. Well, at least you know not to bother trying from Thursday to Tuesday, right?
“We are getting more Nexus 6 devices in stock as soon as possible,” Google explained on its site, adding, “To make things simpler for you, we will work to make more devices available each Wednesday and encourage you to visit the site then.”
The company went on to say that, for those who can wait, the Nexus 6 will be landing at AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint, and US Cellular stores later this month, though you should check with the individual carrier for precise details.
In the meantime, if you’re keen to get your hands on Google’s new flagship smartphone sooner rather than later, you’d better head over to the Play Store now to check availability…..
