You don’t have anything important to do for the next week or so, do you? Because FXX has your next 12 days booked — especially if you’re already a fan of The Simpsons.
The Fox-owned network is kicking off a marathon of every episode of The Simpsons ever created — all 552 episodes and the feature-length film from 2007 — today, August 21, at 10am. The marathon will conclude 12 days later on September 1 at 11:30pm.
Dubbed the “#EverySimpsonsEver Marathon,” the ambitious event is expected to set a new record for the longest-running marathon in television history — as long as Sideshow Bob doesn’t sabotage it, of course. The marathon also heralds the arrival of regularly syndicated Simpsons episodes on FXX that will kick off the day after the marathon ends. In October 2014, a Simpsons World app will also be available for various devices that will have every episode of the series and a library of quotes and clips.
FXX has provided a full schedule of the Simpsons marathon in PDF form — just in case you want to make sure you’re conscious for particular episodes — which culminates with the recent 25th season finale, “The Yellow Badge Of Cowardge.”
Got a favorite episode? It’s on there. Want to watch every “Treehouse of Horror” special? Set your alarm. Interested in seeing one of Conan O’Brien’s greatest contributions to television history? Tune in Friday, August 22, at 9pm for “Marge vs. The Monorail” (with special guest Leonard Nimoy and this song, sung by the late, great Phil Hartman).
