The new preview of Legends of Tomorrow features quite a bit of new footage from the series, and also provides a bit more context for the time-hopping adventure that will bring together many of the supporting cast members from Arrow and The Flash while introducing a few new, on-screen iterations of DC Comics heroes and villains.
Executive produced by the much of the creative team on Arrow and The Flash, Legends of Tomorrow brings together a ragtag group of heroes and villains from both series who are tasked with defeating the immortal villain Vandal Savage (Almost Perfect actor Casper Crump). Along with the time-traveling hero Rip Hunter (Doctor Who actor Arthur Darvill), the team must overcome their own differences in order to prevent Savage from destroying not just the world, but the entire time stream.
Along with Darvill and Crump, the series stars Victor Garber and Franz Drameh as the two men who become the powerful hero Firestorm, Brandon Routh as the superhero scientist Ray Palmer (aka The Atom), Caity Lotz as the resurrected assassin White Canary, Ciarra Renee as Hawkgirl, Falk Hentschel as Carter “Hawkman” Hall, Dominic Purcell as Heat Wave, and Wentworth Miller as Captain Cold.
Both Arrow and The Flash recently aired a pair of crossover episodes that not only bring both series’ casts together, but also serve as a lead-in to Legends of Tomorrow. The two episodes, titled “Legends of Today” and “Legends of Tomorrow,” aired December 1 and 2 on The CW.
DC’s Legends of Tomorrow is currently scheduled to premiere January 21 on The CW. The series has already received a full-season order from the network.
