Everything coming to Netflix in April 2024

Two boys sit in an office in Dead Boy Detectives.
Netflix

March is almost over, and while it didn’t win a lot of Oscars this year, Netflix is still a winner in terms of popularity. That’s primarily due to its diverse slate of hits and critically acclaimed movies and shows, which range from The Gentlemen, Guy Ritchie‘s action-comedy series, to Damsel, a fantasy movie starring Millie Bobby Brown.

Netflix plans to maintain its dominance with its April programming slate, the best yet this year. The month starts with a bang with the premiere of Ripley, a new limited series that adapts the popular novel and 1999 movie The Talented Mr. Ripley, and the debut of Scoop, a drama based on the real-life scandal involving Prince Andrew’s controversial interview with the BBC. The month ends with the highly anticipated adaptation of the popular Neil Gaiman comic book series Dead Boy Detectives and the second part of Zack Snyder’s Rebel Moon films. Check the list below for everything coming to Netflix in April 2024.

If you have to watch one (HBO) Max movie in November 2024, stream this one
if you have to watch one hbo max movie in november 2024 stream this american splendor 2

This month's selection was an HBO original movie in 2003, but it was made on a relatively low budget for the independent film circuit. In the era before comic-book movies arrived multiple times per year, American Splendor bucked the trend by treating its subject and creator, Harvey Pekar, as a man who was extraordinary because he was so ordinary. The real Pekar was just a filing clerk who managed to make a name for himself in comics by writing short stories about his life and the people he encountered, which he had drawn up by artists.

While Pekar and members of his family and friends appear as themselves in American Splendor, they are used primarily as commentators on the dramatization of their lives. Co-directors Shari Springer Berman and Robert Pulcini cast Paul Giamatti in the lead as Harvey Pekar at a moment when Giamatti's career in Hollywood was beginning to really take off. And his performance as Pekar is one of the big reasons why you should watch American Splendor in November.

Netflix’s Mike Tyson vs. Jake Paul fight hit with severe technical glitches
Mike Tyson and Jake Paul stare in a face-off.

Netflix has been hyping up the Mike Tyson versus Jake Paul boxing match for months as one of the biggest streaming events in the company's history. But if tonight's performance is any indication of what Netflix's sports streaming will look like, then the company is in trouble. From the start, the live stream has been hit with severe technical glitches, loss of sound, and very slow feeds during reload attempts.

The only good news so far is that Netflix hasn't completely crashed. The glitch-filled performance suggests that Netflix successfully drew a large audience to stream the fight. But this isn't the first time that Netflix's streaming capabilities have been severely strained during a live broadcast. Fans on social media have been extremely vocal with their displeasure.
