Heroes Reborn offers proof that a formal revival of the popular series is indeed just around the corner.

Heroes creator Tim Kring serves as writer and executive producer on Heroes Reborn, a 13-episode series set in the world of Heroes that introduces a new cast of characters with superhuman abilities. Much like the original series, the people with these extraordinary abilities find themselves at the center of a power struggle between mysterious forces of good, and bad as they attempt to figure out their place in the world.

Several cast members of the original Heroes series are expected to appear in Heroes Reborn, including Jack Coleman as Noah Bennet, Jimmy Jean-Louis as The Haitian, Masi Oka as Hiro Nakamura, Greg Grunberg as Matt Parkman, and Sendhil Ramamurthy as Mohinder Suresh. The series’ cast of newcomers includes actor Zachary Levi (Chuck and Thor: The Dark World), as well as Robbie Kay (Once Upon a Time), Danika Yarosh (Shameless), Judith Shekoni (The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2), Kiki Sukezane (Death Yankee 3), Henry Zebrowski (A to Z), Gatlin Green (Criminal Minds), and Ryan Guzman (The Boy Next Door).

Over the course of four seasons, the original Heroes series was nominated for 14 Primetime Emmy Awards and won an Emmy in 2009 for its visual-effects team. It was also nominated for one Golden Globe Award and three Screen Actors Guild Awards.

Along with the series itself, Heroes Reborn will also be the subject of a digital series that will introduce the new characters and provide a prequel story of sorts ahead of the show’s premiere.

Heroes Reborn premieres Thursday, September 24, at 8pm ET on NBC.

Familiar faces return in the first trailer for Spider-Man: No Way Home
Zendaya and Tom Holland in Spider-Man: No Way Home.

Peter Parker has a big problem. In the mid-credits scene of Spider-Man: Far From Home, Mysterio got his revenge on Peter by exposing his double life as Spidey and framing him for murder. Due to that turn of events, the hero touted as "the next Iron Man" is suddenly public enemy number one. Now, after a great deal of anticipation, we finally have an advance look at Spider-Man: No Way Home. Perhaps in response to the rough cut of the trailer leaking over the weekend, Sony Pictures debuted the first trailer for No Way Home at CinemaCon last night.

After The Walking Dead, post-apocalyptic dramas are kind of passé. Most of them have well-worn premises that have been done many times before. Regardless, you haven't seen one quite like Y: The Last Man.
