In the latest trailer for Ti West’s MaXXXine, America has a new scream queen, and her name is Maxine Minx.

Hollywood. 1980s. Maxine has escaped Texas and moved to Los Angeles to become a famous actress. However, Maxine’s past still lingers as she tries to move past the deadly massacre from X. As she navigates the Hollywood scene, the Night Stalker begins his killing spree and sets his next target as Maxine.

MaXXXine marks the return of Goth, who played Maxine in X. The supporting ensemble includes Elizabeth Debicki, Moses Sumney, Michelle Monaghan, Bobby Cannavale, Halsey, Lily Collins, Giancarlo Esposito, and Kevin Bacon.

Released in March 2022, X introduced audiences to Goth’s Maxine, an aspiring adult film star. In 1979, Maxine and a group of porn actors and filmmakers travel to a Texas farmhouse to shoot an adult film. The property’s owners are Pearl (Goth) and her husband, Howard (Stephen Ure). After learning about their intentions to shoot a pornographic film, Pearl and Howard begin slaughtering their guests.

received predominantly positive reviews, grossing $15 million at the box office on a budget of $1 million. Shortly after its release, West announced Pearl, a prequel that he secretly shot back-to-back with X. With Goth in the titular role, Pearl explored her murderous origins on her family’s farm in 1918. Pearl also garnered a positive reception, with Oscar-winner Martin Scorsese admitting that he “couldn’t stop watching” despite being equally enthralled and disturbed.

West writes and directs MaXXXine, the final chapter in the X trilogy. On June 18, A24 is releasing in theaters for one night only. It features a special post-credits preview of MaXXXine. Tickets are now on sale at Fandango.

Since he started his very own horror trilogy with X, Ti West has been making expert pastiches, each of which centers on characters played by Mia Goth. MaXXXine is the third installment in that trilogy, and follows Maxine, the aspiring actress from the first film, as she makes her way to Hollywood and tries to prove that she is a star.

As she finds herself being hunted by a serial killer, though, Maxine's past threatens to come spilling out toward her present. A24 to rerelease X in theaters, give a sneak peek at MaXXXine

Before MaXXXine arrives this summer, revisit the first film of Ti West's slasher trilogy in theaters. Per Indiewire, A24 is rereleasing X in theaters for one night only on June 18. Viewers will get a sneak peek of MaXXXine in a special post-credits preview.
Written and directed by West, X follows a group of young actors and filmmakers in 1979 who attempt to film an adult movie at a farmhouse in rural Texas. The porn shoot turns deadly when the elderly couple who owns the farm begins murdering the guests. Mia Goth plays Maxine Minx, an aspiring actress, and Pearl, the elderly homicidal homeowner. Released in March 2022, X did good business at the box office, grossing over $15 million against a budget of $1 million.
Tickets for X's June 18 rerelease are now on sale at Fandango. The screenings begin at 7 p.m. local time.

Set in 1918, it had Goth playing a younger version of Pearl, a mentally ill young woman living on her family's farm in Texas. Pearl dreams of becoming a film star, but her psychopathic tendencies get in the way of her dreams. Pearl premiered on September 16, 2022, and grossed over $10 million at the box office. Both X and Pearl received positive reviews, with Goth's performances garnering universal praise.
MaXXXine, the third film in West's trilogy, is the direct sequel to X. Set in 1985, Maxine (Goth) is now trying to make it as an actress in Los Angeles. On the cusp of her big break, the Night Stalker begins targeting young female stars, with Maxine caught in the crosshairs of his deadly rage.
