Some months are more spectacular than others in terms of new content on Netflix. September falls somewhere in the middle, as it doesn’t have the big-name network shows that helped fuel binge-watching through the summer. Instead, it’s adding the Starz original series Heels and The Hughleys, an older sitcom that has a chance to break through again. Call the Midwife season 13 is also making its Netflix premiere.
The September film slate is a little stronger, with Edge of Tomorrow, Midnight Run, Legends of the Fall, and more. If Netflix’s recent history is any indication, some low-budget action flick is going to come out of nowhere and dominate the streamer’s movie chart. That tends to happen at least once a month or so.
