A new, behind-the-scenes video released by EON Productions, MGM, and Sony Pictures offers a glimpse at some of the action sequences that will appear in the 24th installment of the storied franchise — and from the look of things, this could be one of the most intense James Bond movies so far.
The film features commentary from director Sam Mendes, who reprises his role behind the camera after 2012’s Skyfall, as well as the film’s special effects supervisor, Chris Corbould, and various other members of the film’s creative team. Along with offering a peek at several sequences involving high-speed car chases and some wild helicopter maneuvers over a crowded city, the video also showcases Mendes’ desire to include as much practical stunt work as possible. One particular sequence features a large airplane careening down a snow-covered mountain, through the top floor of a building, and exploding out the other side.
Directed by Mendes from a script by John Logan, Neal Purvis, Robert Wade, and Jez Butterworth, SPECTRE sends the famous Agent 007 (Daniel Craig) on a mission to uncover the secrets of a dangerous criminal organization that may have connections within his own agency, MI6. As the organization attempts to protect itself from threats both external and internal, James Bond must track down old enemies in order to untangle the web of deception that surrounds everything he holds dear.
Along with Craig as James Bond, SPECTRE also stars Monica Bellucci, Andrew Scott, Naomie Harris, Ben Whishaw, Ralph Fiennes, Jesper Christensen, and Christoph Waltz.
The film’s theme song, “Writing’s on the Wall,” is performed by Grammy-winning musician Sam Smith.
SPECTRE will arrive in standard and IMAX theaters November 6.
