Warner Bros. Pictures recently announced that production would begin on its upcoming superhero team-up movie Justice League Part One in April, but fans might have received an early peek at certain elements of the film this week, thanks to a photo posted by Man of Steel and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice director Zack Snyder.

The photo features Snyder and actor Jason Momoa, who’s expected to make his debut as Aquaman at some point in Batman v Superman. The pair appear to be on the set of Justice League, as they’re surrounded by various masks and costume models that will certainly seem familiar to fans of the DC Comics superheroes — including what appears to be a costume for The Flash.

The costume for The Flash can be glimpsed in the background on the left side of the photo, and appears to offer the first glimpse of what the big-screen version of the Scarlet Speedster will look like in the film. We Need To Talk About Kevin and The Perks of Being a Wallflower actor Ezra Miller was cast as The Flash back in October 2014, and is expected to appear in Batman v Superman and both Justice League films before going solo in 2018’s The Flash.

And that’s not the only hint of what’s to come for the DC Comics cinematic universe that can be found in the photo.

Positioned just in front of The Flash costume is what appears to be Momoa’s full Aquaman costume as it will appear in the films. We’ve already seen an official photo of the actor in character from the waist up, but this costume appears to be slightly different than the one from that early image.

Directly beneath The Flash costume is another potential tease for fans, as there appears to be a photo of Aquaman’s wife, Mera, posted at floor level in the photo. In the DC Comics universe, Mera has long, red hair and wears a tiara similar to the one glimpsed in the photo. The Danish Girl and Magic Mike XXL actress Amber Heard was first rumored to be playing Mera back in January 2016.

There’s also been some speculation among fans that the black costume seen directly behind Snyder could be the outfit worn by Nightwing, Batman’s former partner who now fight crime as a solo act.

Along with Momoa as Aquaman, Miller as The Flash, and Heard as Mera, Justice League Part One is set to star Ben Affleck as Batman, Henry Cavill as Superman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, and Ray Fisher as Cyborg.

Justice League Part One is currently scheduled to hit theaters November 10, 2017.

5 scrapped ideas for DC’s Snyderverse that are better off canceled
Ares, Artemis, and Zeus in ancient Earth in "Zack Snyder's Justice League."

With the cancellation of Zack Snyder's planned story for the DC Extended Universe, many details about what could've been have come to light in recent years. The "Snyderverse," as fans have dubbed it, was supposed to include a solo film for Ben Affleck's Batman and two more sequels to Justice League, culminating in a final battle between the heroes of Earth and the evil god Darkseid.

Many ideas for the Snyderverse sound very thrilling and make fans wish they were never scrapped, but there are some that were arguably better off left on the cutting room floor.
