Apple’s newest — and largest — retail store, located in New York City’s Grand Central Terminal, will reportedly open for business tomorrow, November 22, reports 9to5Mac. If true, the store will benefit from the surge of holiday traffic to Grand Central, which sees as many as 1 million people pass through its corridors during the season.
As of today, the store is shrouded by black wooden walls that keep its layout hidden from public view. But thanks to images and floor plans released by the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA), which operates Grand Central (and the rest of the New York public transportation system), we already have a good idea what to expect.
The store will reportedly have about 300 employees, and take up 24,000 square feet of floor space, which will make it larger than any of the 350+ retail locations Apple has worldwide.
Employees slated to work at the Grand Central location are reportedly being trained at other Apple Stores in NYC. And the store is said to be in the process of being stocked with inventory to handle the massive number of customers it will presumably receive on Black Friday.
