Well, it’s out. Somebody leaked the 2013 Bentley Continental GT Speed Convertible ahead of its scheduled Detroit Auto Show debut and we’re tickled purple. Sorry, that was bad.
Moving on: the 2013 Bentley Continental GT Speed Convertible has been fitted with, like the hardtop version, a twin-turbocharged 6.0-liter W12 engine producing 616 horsepower and 590 pound-feet of torque and an eight-speed automatic transmission. Delightfully, all 616 ponies are sent to all four corners of the car through a rear-based Torsen center differential. All these mouth-watering performance bits underneath the stunning bodywork will rocket the 2013 Bentley Continental GT Speed Convertible from 0-60 in under five seconds and onto a top speed of around 200 MPH.
The Convertible is the most recent Bentley to be updated with the company’s new looks – and we love it. Bentleys of late just looked like cars. Meaning, they didn’t stand out the way, say, a Rolls Royce did. They just looked like big…cars. Now, however, they are sporting a bit more sharp and lean, despite having been lowered 10mm and widened a bit. Accenting the new lowered body are some imposing 21-inch alloys, which have been wrapped in Pirelli P Zero high-performance tires.
Based upon the photos we grabbed from Motor Authority, the 2013 Bentley Continental GT Speed Convertible looks better than ever. While these stats are simply preliminary, we should know all the nitty-gritty details soon. And when we do, we’ll be sure to bring them to you.
