With the Surface Pro 3, Microsoft hasn’t made any major design departures from previous entries in the Surface line, but the latest model still has the specs to stand out. Most notably, it’s only 9.1 mm thin this time around, putting it in the same league as many Android tablets and older iPads, despite the fact that it runs full Windows 8 on Intel’s powerful Core processors. The 12-inch screen looks even sharper thanks to 2,160 x 1,440 resolution (up from 1080p), and a new “full-friction” kickstand can position the tablet at variable angles.
