Pentax yesterday introduced two new digital SLR cameras, one of which has special shake reduction technology to deliver higher quality pictures. The new K100D ($699.95) and K110D ($599.95) will be available in July and August respectively.
The Pentax K100D, the company said, has a special mechanism oscillating the CCD image sensor vertically and horizontally at high speed using magnetic force, while adjusting the speed of oscillation in proportion to the amount of camera shake detected by a built-in sensor. Both this camera and the non-shake reduction K110D have 6.1 effective megapixels and ship with smc 18-55mm lenses.
“The ease-of-use, advanced features and attractive price make the Pentax K100D digital SLR a perfect choice for users moving up from a point-and-shoot camera,” said Ned Bunnell, director of marketing, Pentax Imaging Company, in a statement.
