What do you get when four imaging companies work together on color calibration?

quick color match released

Getting colors on paper that match the colors on the screen is traditionally a complex process, but a new color matching program released today hopes to change that.

Quick Color Match, created from a collaboration between Eizo, Adobe, Canon, and Epson, is a new program designed to streamline the color matching process by handling the monitor, editing software, and printer settings in one place. The software allows users to drag and drop photos into the program, select the printer and paper type, and after that, the color adjustments are automatically applied to the image inside Photoshop.

“One of the big challenges that photographers face is making sure the colors in their photos are accurately reproduced throughout their entire workflow,” said Chris Quek, group marketing manager of photography at Adobe Systems Inc. “Eizo’s Quick Color Match software is a fantastic solution for this issue and makes it easy to use when editing and printing photos using Photoshop.”

The download is free for both Mac and PC, though users will need the right hardware, which includes a color calibrated Eizo ColorEdge monitor and a Canon or Epson printer.

The program creates a profile for compatible monitors, saving factors like brightness, gamma and color space and optimizing them for the selected printer and paper type. With the Canon Print Studio Pro or Epson Print Layout plugins, users can also print directly from the program.

Eizo will demonstrate the new software at the Adobe, Canon, and Epson booths at Photokina, a photography trade show that will take place in Germany on September 20-25.

While the hardware requirements will narrow the program’s use, the software could simplify workflow for many photographers through simple color matching. The software can be downloaded free from the Eizo website.

You can get back to those days by snagging a (in the ice white color), and it’s the perfect time because it’s on sale. Get it for 24% off during Amazon’s Prime Big Deal Days, but hurry while inventory is going strong.
There’s something magical about having a physical photo right in your hand seconds after snapping the shot, and it adds a fun, retro vibe to moments you want to capture and keep. Plus, having an actual picture to hold and display can be so much more satisfying than just another digital file on your phone. I picked one up two years ago for my eight-year-old daughter, and it’s been an instant hit in our household. And now, at its $59 sale price, I'm definitely going to be stocking up on a few to gift ahead of the holiday season.

How the Fujifilm Instax Mini 11 works
The delightful throwback comes with a FUJINON 60mm lens and an automatic exposure feature that adjusts the shutter speed for the best shot, even in low light. While the picture quality won’t be as crisp as what your smartphone can capture, it’ll still produce a quality image worthy of slapping on a refrigerator.
If selfies are your thing, this camera has a dedicated Selfie Mode (with a mirror). We set up a DIY photo booth for my daughter's birthday party with sticker frames so each kid could go home with a photo souvenir, and it was a total hit.
You can opt to make it a set with a range of accessories to buy separately, like a carrying case, a handy strap, those sticker borders I mentioned, and photo albums to hold the memories.
